Business News Agency August 2 hearing July 29, the National Center for Adverse Drug Reactions announced the fourth issue of this year's medical equipment adverse event information, to remind concerned about the infusion pump, the risk of infusion pump injection speed is abnormal.
Infusion pumps and syringe pumps are commonly used infusion aids in clinical practice and are mainly used for precision infusion of certain special drugs and high-risk drugs. The clinical use of such products, such as unqualified product quality or clinical operation, improper care, etc., may result in abnormal control of infusion flow rate, which will directly affect the safety and effectiveness of patient medication. From 2002 to the end of 2010, the National Center for Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring received a total of 575 suspicious medical device adverse event report forms related to infusion pumps and syringe pumps. The main manifestations are: Abnormal infusion rate control, unable to pump liquids , crashes, infusion lines leakage and so on.
While noticing the risks of infusion pumps and syringe pump infusion speeds, the notification pointed out that the infusion pumps and syringe pump manufacturers should strictly control the product design and manufacturing quality and improve the accuracy of the products; clearly identify the supporting supplies in the instruction manual. Model and range, if it involves a variety of consumables, should provide the flow rate calibration value of different consumables; strengthen the training of users; improve the level of after-sales service, regularly test and calibrate after-sales products to ensure the safe use of the device.
