Editor's Note: As the hometown of China's pump and valve, Yongjia pump and valve industry large and medium-sized enterprises have participated in R&D innovation and technology upgrade, and strive to produce more high-end pump and valve products. However, due to insufficient innovation capacity of enterprises, small and medium-sized private and private pump and valve enterprises account for a large proportion, and there are fewer large-scale pump and valve enterprises. The domestic pump and valve industry is less competitive in the market. In the face of difficulties and urgent need for transformation, many Yongjia valve enterprises began to explore the road of transformation. Some leading enterprises took the lead in scientific research, developed high-value products with high added value, and built brands to enhance market competitiveness.
Yongjia is one of the important pump and valve production bases in China. It has the title of “Hometown of Pumps and Valves in China”. The county has more than 2,000 pumps and related enterprises, including 24 with output value of over 100 million yuan. After more than 40 years of development, Yongjia's pump and valve industry has become the main pillar industry of Yongjia County. Yongjia is the production base of pump and valve products concentrated in the whole country. In 2012, the pump and valve industry achieved a total industrial output value of 24.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.8%; completed self-operated exports of 279 million US dollars, an increase of 27.93%, becoming the industry of Wenzhou's export growth rate.
However, since the beginning of this year, the Yongjia pump and valve market has been cold. Except for some leading enterprises such as Chaoda, Bethel and Founder, due to the busy production of orders left over last year, the orders of many enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, have been significantly reduced, even without orders. Chen Wenrong, secretary-general of the Yongjia County Pump and Valve Industry Association, said that “the current situation of the entire industry, in addition to the domestic and international economic factors, Wenzhou valve industry itself has a certain shortage. Wenzhou valve industry is relatively small, scattered, with the other three in China Compared with a production base, the only remaining advantage is that the industrial chain is relatively complete and the supply is fast."
In an environment of increasingly fierce competition, rising production costs such as labor and logistics, Wenzhou's traditional valve industry faces pressures such as market saturation, low-price competition and thin profit margins. The original competitive advantage is weakening and there is no real brand leading enterprise. The lack of innovation ability of enterprises and the transformation and upgrading of the industry are imminent.
In terms of owning core technologies, there is still a certain gap between domestic enterprises and developed countries. Yongjia pump and valve enterprises actively absorb advanced foreign technology and strengthen their own research and development level. As early as 2000, Haitan Pump Industry successfully introduced various types of technologies from Germany. After absorbing, transforming and concentrating its own advantages, the products were continuously optimized and innovative, and they occupied a place in the hometown of pumps and valves with strong hands.
The advancement of science and technology has enabled enterprises to enter a virtuous circle of rapid development, which has also contributed to the sharp increase in foreign trade exports. Haitan Pump has provided tens of thousands of sets of products to domestic and foreign markets, and has been well received in different fields such as chemical, fire, pharmaceutical, paper, metallurgy, HVAC, electric power, construction and environmental protection. This year, the Provincial Department of Commerce officially recognized Yongjia as a “provincial pump and valve product export base”.
In order to have long-term development in China's pump and valve industry, we must adjust and optimize the industrial structure. We must continue to give full play to the advantages of the traditional pump and valve industry, and vigorously develop knowledge, technology-intensive industries and emerging industries to promote the upgrading of the valve industry. . Only in this way can we shorten the gap between China's valve industry and developed countries as soon as possible. Haitan Pump Industry continues to invest in new product technology research and development and introduction of new technology and at the same time, pay more attention to product details, show products more professional system solutions and faster, more complete pre-sale, sale, after-sales service. Therefore, as long as enterprises can seize opportunities, strengthen research and development capabilities, and continuously improve product technology content and product quality, they will be able to take an active position in the broad market competition.
